Systems Group

In a collaborative project such as Mobile VCE involving a number of partners, it is very important that there is good liaison to ensure that all the different work areas, work packages and partners are aligned in their assumptions. Overall coordination on a central set of scenarios, assumptions and definitions is provided by the Systems Group.

The objective of the Systems Group is to co-ordinate the vision and technical assumptions across all three work areas. This group is also responsible for external liaisons with relevant industry activities, European IST projects and organises project workshops. In addition, at the start of the programme a higher level of resource has been deployed to draft a framework of service and usage scenarios. The process of generation of, and the availability of, these scenarios helps foster a shared understanding of the programme goals and will maintain a User focus.

The key outputs of the group include:

• Service & Usage Scenarios

• A living document in the form of a 'Book of Assumptions' documenting common suppositions and solutions from the different work areas to ensure consistency between their proposals as far as appropriate.

• Documentation of interactions and dependencies between Core 3 work areas

• Members workshops to report progress on the work programme to the membership

• Documents and technical inputs to external bodies and forums

• A public workshop at the end of the programme describing MVCE work
